Same-day motorcycle service

Most jobs go out the day they come in. Riding season in the Hudson Valley is short enough without a shop keeping your bike for a fortnight over a tire and a set of pads.

What you get

A short season is the whole argument.

The service bay at Blackwood Cycles in Walden, New York, with one bike on the lift.

There are maybe seven good months of riding here, and a chunk of those are wet. A shop that keeps your bike for two weeks over routine work has taken a real piece of your season, and the reason is almost never the work itself — it is the queue in front of it.

  • Open 10AM to 9PM, six days a week — the longest hours in the area.
  • Walk-in, so your bike does not sit in a queue waiting for a booking slot.
  • One mechanic, so nothing gets handed off, forgotten, or waits on someone else's bay.
  • Tires, brakes, chains and inspections are routinely wait-for-it jobs.
  • If a job genuinely cannot be finished today, you are told that up front.
Is everything really done the same day?
Most jobs are. Work that needs a part nobody stocks locally is the usual exception, and you will be told that when you drop the bike off rather than three days later.
Do I need to book a same-day slot?
No. There is no booking system. Ride in during opening hours.
How late can I drop a bike off?
The shop is open until 9PM Monday through Saturday. The later in the day you arrive, the more likely the work rolls to the next open day.
What are your hours?
10AM to 9PM Monday through Saturday. Closed Sunday.
